Abstract

Orientable clamp for supporting small components during drilling etc. operation, enables the workpiece to be repositioned accurately for successive drillings without prior re-clamping operations and attendant inaccuracies, and is basically a forked support bearing a body rotatably on a horizontal axis with a clamp support arm extending from this body, and the axle can be set at the required angle via vernier. The support has a slotted base plate for fixture to machine tools, and pref. the axle can rotate 120 deg. and terminally bears a graduated vernier; the body is traversed by a spindle with pincers for engaging the workpiece and locked via tube traversing a spindle aperture and an aft lever. The spindle can accommodate pinions from 2 to 48 divisions. The rotating body component has a main axle traversing aperture (34) and the spindle traversing aperture.
