Abstract

There is a steering wheel (1) which can be almost of any conventional type. On this is mounted a plate (2) on which can be rested a book, writing pad or similar object. The plate is held on the steering wheel by feet at the top of the "rest" position of the wheel and a foot at the bottom. These feet are specially shaped to match the steering wheel rim. The two upper feet can slide up and down, downwards movement being restrained by stops (5). The lower foot slides in a recess (6), and is drawn towards the wheel centre by a spring (7). Papers can be held by any convenient method.
