Abstract

A means for destroying xylophage insects (lyctus, termites capricornes etc.) which damage woodwork comprises a hollow nail, the stem of which is perforated over the whole of its lateral surface and contains a charge of solid insecticide, the nail being knocked into the wood and the head of the nail is fitted with a reservoir contg. an amount of solvent to dissolve the change of insecticide. Long lasting protection is obtd. with the minimum of after treatment by replacement of the charge within the nail device by the same or a different insecticide.
