Abstract

The radar reflector structure for a navigation buoy or navigation hazard, made from glass fibre reinforcd plastics, is provided by incorporating aluminium needles in the latter, each of these needles being of a different length, so that it acts as a dipole reflector for a specific wavelength of a search radar beam. This system may be included in the hull structure of a small boat or dinghy, with a mixture of aluminium needles of different length, incorporated between the glass fibre reinforced layers, from which the hull is constructed, e.g. over the entire hull, or above the water line only.
