Abstract

The springs (3) are fixed at one end (2) and radiate from the corner of the elbow junction. As the tubes slide over the branches of the elbow the springs are deformed and hold the tubes. The elbow need not itself be made of tubular material, but is typically formed from angle iron. The springs may be wire or thin strips which are folded into three sections. The first section is joined to the elbow by e.g. riveting and extends into the second section which is parallel to the branch on which it is mounted. The third section extends to the branch where its free end may engage a stop.
