Abstract

A first feed system comprises a trough (1) attached to a bulkhead (2). A tank (3) is attached to the other side of the bulkhead and is connected to the trough by a pipe (6). The latter is joined to a larger dia. pipe (9) which ends in the trough. When the water level in the latter drops below the pipe water flows into the trough. This system is used for young animals. The second system, for older stock, comprises a pipe (10) fixed to the same bulkhead (2), sliding in clamps (11) and connected to the mains water supply at its upper end. The lower end curves into the centre of the trough where it ends in a valve opened by a push button which is operated by the animal.
