Abstract
The telephone signal converter translates digital transmission signals into analogue signals whose modulation frequency is a simple multiple of the digital system's sampling frequency, and vice versa. The digital multiplexer (2) contains an input decoder (12) whose output is multiplexed (15, 16) via a low pass filter (18) and amplifier (21) to the inout of the analogue multiplexer unit (5). The analogue multiplexer's input passes over a low pass filter to a first modulator (33), and from there over a bandpass filter to the second modulator (40). Conversion in the opposite direction takes place in teh same manner using a coder. The sampling frequency is 8 kHz and the first modulation frequency is 24 kHz.
