Abstract

The swivel axis is formed by an upright cylindrical column with four identical cylindrical rings arranged at different levels and having a threaded bore at right angles to the axis for a threaded spindle, the head of which forms the engaging member for an upright post of the partition wall. The engaging member has a key-hole shaped recess with the rounded part at the lower end and arranged at suitable points on a flat vertical face of the said partition upright which has an elongate groove for electric cables or the like, a longitudinally extending seat for attaching a partition wall and superposed recesses forming a toothed rack for shelves or the like fitted along the wall. The top end of the column is closed by a cap whilst the lower end has a safety member for the rings. Decorative elements which may also contain electric switches etc. conceal the elongate groove of the uprights.
