Abstract

A flat plate of material which can be moulded is first decorated over its whole surface. It is then shaped into the article of hand luggage required by moulding, e.g. by vacuum forming. The decoration (16) consists of a distinctive sign, such as the trade mark of the manufacture, a signature or other similar marks, which is repeated sequentially over the whole surface. The final article (10) is made up of two rigid or semi-rigid shells (11A, 11B) which are joined to metal bands (12A, 12B) on which the hinges, locks and the handle (13) are fixed.
