Abstract

An incandescent filament electric lamp bulb has a silvered reflecting bulb cap such that light rays emitted from a point of the filament are reflected twice before reaching the socket of the bulb. The envelope of the bulb has a conical shape tangential with the spherical shape of the median part of the bulb. The tip of the bulb is at a greater distance from the filament than that of a similar point of a spherical envelope. The bulb has a decreasing curvature from the median part of the bulb to the tip. The filament has a toroidal winding. It is possible to have a bulb of 60W, 225V with a reflecting cap which has a socket of lower temperature and has an overall size smaller than conventional bulbs.
