Abstract

A bed can be used for weighing the human body or for measuring changes of weight to better than 1%. It is for use particularly in dialytic analysis. It has a chassis (1) on retractable wheels and a platen (8) to carry the patient. A series of articulated levers (14), frames (9) and cables (11) transmit the weight to be measured to an adjustable screw (20) and a dynamometric capsule (21). The capsule is connected to a dial indicator, with a centre-zero, giving weight change. The whole mechanism is balanced by means of a spring (29) whose tension is adjustable by a cable and drum (32).
