Abstract
Composite paper web is produced by helical winding of one or more tapes in different rotary directions at preselected pitches onto a mandrel to form a tube, collapsing the tube and bonding the superposed tape layers. Esp. for mfr. of insulating paper tapes for electric high tension cables. Paper tapes following impregnation with oil have a uniform dielectric characteristic and tapes can be produced from starting matls. having a wide range of variation of props.
