Abstract

Thermosetting moulding compsns. contain an unhardened aminoplast resin and an alkyd plasticiser having acid no. 10 (pref. 1) and contg. (i) a mono-, di- or tricarboxylic acid component, esp. a benzene dicarboxylic acid and/or a 4-9C aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, (ii) an alcohol with 1-4 OH gps., esp. a 2-10C diol or triol, and (III) totally 20 (10) esp. 7 acid alcohol units. Pref. plasticiser quantity is 10 (5) wt.%/wt. plasticiser + aminoplast resin. Use of alkyd plasticiser leads to mouldings having low free water content but good flow-properties.
