Abstract

The pallet base has a laminated construction, being composed of thin sheets of wood, glued together to form a whole, having the wood grains in different directions. Several slits are cut in the sheet, diagonally in from the corners and V shaped along the sides. The centre also has diagonal slits. The tabs formed are folded up at right angles and have their corners bent over to provide flat areas, all in the same plane and parallel to the base. Two pairs of channels (3, 4, ; 5, 6) are formed. A second flat wooden sheet (7) is fixed onto the flat areas to form the top of the pallet.
