Abstract

The mechanism consists of two U-section members (1) pivoting at the side, of a square tube beam (2). The suspended ram (7) acts upon the members causing them to rotate and pull on two rods (3) to which they are attached. The rods cause the eccentric locks (4), pivoted on the side frame, to rotate. Each locks consists of 3 flanges, 2 of which form a female section which corresponds to a male part on the central frame, and are connected by an arm to a return spring. The third flange helps to form a stop. The rotation of the lock disengages the male and female parts and the stop comes up against the rear spar of the side frame, causing it to fold.
