Abstract

The antenna switch consists of a controllable impedance network between the antenna and the sender and receiver, which passes the signal frequency band, and of two electronic switches. The latter, when operated, make the above network non-conducting for the signal frequency band. The network consists of a T-section low pass filter, with an additional capacitor added to the shunt arm. The electronic switch is a PIN diode, and the capacitor a discrete capacitor. The resistances of the electronic switches in both passing and blocking conditions have a negligible influence. The apparent impedance network does not need to be tuned to a specific working frequency.
