Abstract

The cylinder (103) body (108) has a bore (109) receiving a piston (110) joined to the brake pedal (100). In the bore is a second piston (111) which forms a chamber (1) filled with brake fluid increasing in pressure as the brake pedal is depressed. This moves the second piston away from the pedal and allows fluid to flow into another chamber (2) which communicates with the front brakes (105). There is another bore (112), coaxial with the first bore (109), which receives a sliding valve (6). The rear brakes ( 107) are fed by the third chamber (18) and a limiter (L). The valve has a spindle (12) cooperating with the end of piston (111) to open the valve and connect the fourth chamber (21), connected to the rear brake (107), with the third chamber which connects to the first chamber (1). The fourth and second chambers are separated by a seal (14, 224).
