Abstract

A machine for printing both sides of sheets of cardboard has a horizontal frame with a printing cylinder (1) at the feed end (8) from which the sheets are conveyed by a belt conveyor arrangement (9, 10, 11) towards a paddle wheel (3) so that the sheets are carried round by its arms (15) and deposited upside down onto a second conveyor arrangement (4) which feeds them towards a second printing cylinder which prints the reverse side. Whilst being reversed by the paddle wheel, the flow of air helps to dry the ink thus preventing smudging during the second printing stage. The transmission for the paddle wheel includes a rocker plate held in tension by a pair of springs.
