Abstract

Device for the simultaneous turning over of a number of cheeses, arranged on several planes of a shelved support, comprises a vertical panel which is mounted to pivot around a horizontal axis, it is fitted with perpendicular blades which are distributed on its surface with spacings corresp. to the gaps between the cheeses and with a vertical gap corresp. to the space between two shelves. For use a stack of screens is built up on the 1st base screen and a second base screen is arranged upside down on the top of the stack, with its feet directed upwards. The cheeses are placed in rows on the screens, spaces being left for the blades. The stack is lifted by a fork-lift truck so that the 1st base screen can be placed on lower brackets. The blades penetrate between the cheeses, a certain amount of play being left so that the stack can easily be placed in the device. Upper brackets are lowered so that the stack is held vertically in position between the upper and lower brackets. Side-plates are brought towards each other so as the maintain the screens in their horizontal position. With the stack retained on all sides, the device can be pivoted through 180 degrees. After turning over, the cheeses now rest on the screens which were previously above them. The device is light and mobile, it can make use of standard screens.
