Abstract

Two gripping block act on the rope at a set distance apart so as to prevent all movement in one direction, and they can be brought closer to each other so as to slide the rope in the other direction through one of the blocks. The blocks are then moved apart again so as to slide the other block along the rope in the other direction. Guides for the rope can be provided between the blocks. There can be a first tube secured to one block and pivoting about a fixed axis, while a second tube secured to the other block slides inside the first tube under the action of a rocker lever on a fixed axis.
