Abstract

The tool has radial spring blades in the form of wires of equal length joined together at one end and pressed together adjacent to these ends. The other, free ends of the wires form the cutting surface, and the ratio between the sum of the areas of the free wire ends and the total cutting surface is 0.10:0.99. The tool has two or more groups of blades, and between the groups and adjacent to their joined ends are ring-shaped inserts, their thickness and arrangement being such that the cutting surface formed by the free ends is a curve of the same radius as the surface to be machined, and the wires when free are at right angles to this surface.
