Abstract

The invention applies to a small pleasure craft where the headroom below deck is normally restricted and the crew can only stay below decks sitting or lying down. The additional headroom is obtained by forming a recess at the base of the hull directly above the keel in such a way that the crew may stand in the space created. The width of the additional space is restricted an in plan the recess has tapered ends to maintain good stream lining. The invention may be applied to twin keel boats or hulls with bilge keels and also to catamaran and trimaran hulls.
