Abstract
The retaining part (3') can slide relative to the brake shoe for a distance at least equal to the lengths of the eyelet holes (5) which retain the blocks (1)(for a limited amount of travel). The retainer (3') is curved in a particular way and is extracted from below to free the blocks. It is guided laterally in the brake shoe. Other means of limiting travel are covered by the patent, together with cam shaped pieces of the assembly. The type of fixing speeds up brake block changing time. The blocks have upper projections which pass through the eyelet holes and the retaining part is slid along the shoe so that the arms pass through the projections.
