Abstract

A cylindrical spindle (1) is able to slide vertically and is loaded by a helical spring (5) in a 'C' section support member (4). The vertical spindle traverses bearings (2, 3) locating at the mid span of each of the horizontal arms of the 'C'; the spring (5) encircling the spindle and being contained by the top arm of the 'C' and by a spindle projection (8). This latter is diametric pin (8) which engages an 'L' shaped slot (10) in the web (4) of the 'C'. Units for use at a door foot embody a screw (11) and hollow support (12) integral with the 'C' member and aligning co-axially above the spindle (1) whereby the spindle's vertical station is adjusted.
