Abstract

Each container is rectangular with an open top and at each corner is a recess allowing easier stacking and feeding. Each container is filled with the empty bags which require filling. Each bottom container of a stack is in turn pushed out of the stack to the bagging machine. This allows continuous feeding of the machine without having to shut down. From the forward stack each bag is picked up by a vacuum pad which rotates through a quarter turn, so that the bag is in the vertical plane. This is achieved by means of a hydraulic ram. The vertical bag is passed onto the machine for filling.
