Abstract

The foot for the main upright of the parapet comprises a top opening (O) and a side opening (L), which enables the main upright to be inserted from the side. The foot receives a jaw with a contact surface which rests on the side of the main upright to secure it. The jaw has sloping surfaces which act in conjunction with ramps (5) in the recesses (6) cut out of the inner sides of the foot. The surfaces of the jaw acting with the ramps are on either side of a central section which has the contact surface. The sloping surfaces of the jaw, the ramps and the surface of the heel and the projection of the foot all slope to the same plane.
