Abstract

The device consists of a plastic water reservoir (1) with a plastic separating plate (2) which rests on the shoulder (5) of the reservoir, and which has two pairs of slots to take the primary wicks (3). Each wick leaves and re-enters the reservoir through a pair of slots forming a contact surface on the upper side of teh separating plate. The secondary wick (10) is stretched over a bar (16) which is lozenge shaped in section. The secondary wick is stretched and held tight so that only a small surface area is in contact with the primary wick. It is supported on the separating plate on which it can revolve, thus bringing the wicks together either fully or in part. A scale is marked on the reservoir.
