Abstract

Protective or descriptive paints are prefabricated in >=1 layer on to a flexible support film and covered with an adhesive coating which can be exposed by removal of a protective film. They are used for marking and/or protecting concrete, metal, wood, etc., structures under water, e.g., boat hulls, dock gates, dams, etc. It can be applied or renewed underwater with an item in situ, and is simpler than underwater application of 'wet' paints. Pressure may be applied directly to consolidate contact.
