Abstract

The small d.c. motor, for record players and tape recorders etc., has a wound rotor and a permanently magnetic stator enclosed in a cylindrical housing whose end plates carry the sintered metal bearings for the shaft. The commutator disc is mounted at one end of the shaft and has noble metal contact surfaces. The brushes are formed by spring fingers which act axially at one end against the contact surfaces on the axially outer face of the commutator disc. Porous bodies for lubricating oil are located one at each end of the shaft around the bearing surfaces. An oil-spray disc is located on the shaft between the commutator and the porous body at that end of the shaft.
