Abstract

Two elements are used; one is a cylindrical sleeve (10, 101) made in various heights, the other (11) is flat and used as a lid or base. The sleeve has outer (15) and inner (16) skins, with separators (17, 18) between, and the intervening space (22) is filled with insulating material (23). Locking clamps (42) are fitted top and bottom of each sleeve. The lid, or base, is made from identical halves (30, 31) joined together at their outer flanges (41) and with the space between filled with insulation. When clamped to the sleeves, a bead (36) compresses a seal (25, 26) and forms a closed compartment. Food containers (51, 52), with lids (64), are firmly held stacked within the compartments.
