Abstract

The anemometer has a tubular body (4) placed in the fluid with its axis parallel to the flow. A regulator controls the power supplied to the heater, and an electronic circuit can provide a signal dependent on the power supplied to the heater and proportional to the flow velocity. The sensor consists of a transistor (19) whose emitter electrode is connected to a low impedance. The heater is supplied by a constant current source connected to the collector electrode of the transistor (19). The regulator has a reference source, a transistor base polarising circuit and amplifier whose inputs are connected to the base of the transistor (19), and the reference source and amplifier output are connected to the collector of the transistor to maintain its voltage constant.
