Abstract

Fungicidal material comprises (A) at least one active principle having a vapour pressure at 25 degrees C of >=0.0001 mm/Hg chosen from cpds. of formula (I): (where R, R', R" and R'" are H or Cl, two at least being Cl), (B) an absorbent support chosen from porous or fibrous compact materials and macromolecular organic solids, (C) opt. an adjuvant chosen from plasticisers, co-evaporants, chlorinated biphenyls, chlorinated triphenyls, perfumes, colorants and pigments and (D) opt. an exterior film comprising a high molecular wt. material having a thickness of 5-60 mu, esp. PVC or polyethylene. The material is used for protecting the surface of plants or seeds over long periods of time, by slow release of the fungicidal agent to provide protective vapour shield. (I) is pref. 2,3,5-trichloro-mucononitrile.
