Abstract

The portable loudspeaker and amplifier unit is mounted in a housing consisting of two parts (12, 14) hinged together so that they can open through 180 deg. and held together when closed by a spring clasp (26). The first part contains the loudspeaker (30), the battery supply (28) and the volume control potentiometer (27). The second part contains the amplifier (29), a mains transformer and rectifier unit (80), and a cable (84) to connect the amplifier to the audio signal source. The amplifier has external connectors (88, 89) to connect in an additional external amplifier is required. A handle is fixed to the second part of the housing.
