Abstract

The receiving electrodes are coated with material giving a self-cleaning effect by means of catalytic decomposition of the particles deposited on them. They can be heated to increase the catalytic effect, being hollow, with heater elements inside. Alternatively, they can comprise endless metal strips, held tight between two rollers driven by a motor, and heated by radiation. Scrapers can be provided to detach highly adhesive particles from the electrodes, these particles then being collected into removable drawers. The electrodes can be in the form of bars heated resistances, assembled into a panel, and stretched over insulators.
