Abstract

The fuse incorporates a primer, a striker, a weight causing the striker to ignite the fuse on the shock of impact and free to move in any direction, and a pin locking striker and primer in the safe position. A mechanism tends to eject the pin, and is opposed by a safety device comprising a cap protecting the fuse, and a ballasted ribbon (9) wound round the fuse so as to oppose ejection of the pin (6). A ring surrounds the ribbon and prevents it unwinding. The ring can comprise a first portion extending for one turn round the fuse, a second with adhesive sections sticking to the first, and a third forming a tear-off tongue.
