Abstract

The dual circuit master brake cylinder has two pistons linked to two control valves in tandem. The seals between the inlet of the second brake system and the chamber of the first brake system are double with a vented space between them. This ensures that if there is a failure in either seal then that circuit is vented while the remaining circuit stays operational. The system therefore acts as a fail-safe arrangement.
