Abstract

The leading edge of the sheet to be printed comes into a first position in relation to the printing surface, from which it recoils slightly under the action of a first stop into a second registration position in relation to the surface. The leading edge (1) is held against the printing surface (4) by one or more devices whose free ends coincide wit hor protrude slightly beyond it in the first position. The stop (3) drives them and the sheet leading edge towards the registration position. The devices can be movable and act against a first return spring, and the force with which they bear against the leading edge can be adjustable.
