Abstract

The steriliser is heated and cooled by circulation of fluid through its double cylindrical wall and also through the hollow shaft, hollow cross arms and hollow blades of the stirrer mechanism. The cross arms are arranged in pairs, offset mutually by approx. 10 degrees, and pass through the walls where they are welded for sealing. They have holes communicating with the interior of the shaft and further holes communicating with the curved blades, fabricated from flat plate welded together and to the cross arms.
