Abstract

Opt. hardened dental compsn. contains (A) a resin component consisting of aromatic and aliphatic dimethacrylate resins or aliphatic monoacrylate resins crosslinked with aromatic and aliphatic dimethacrylate, and (B) 20-120%, w.r.t. resin, of a microcrystalline SiO2 filler, (B'), having particle size 0.2-50 mu and ave. particle size 25 mu, and (C) small amounts of hardener components and UV-absorbers. It is used for glazing, splinting and repairing dentures or discoloured, worn dental enamel, having the advantages of (a) improved resistance to wear and compression; (b) compositions are transparent; (c) harden within 3 mins.
