Abstract

Handles can be placed nearer the centre of the door even though the lock is on the edge. The door handle (12) is on a rectangular support (11). On the opposite face are three circular recesses, one each side (13, 14) and one in the middle (15). The left-hand recess (13) contains a sprocket (16) attached to the shaft (17) of the handle (12). This sprocket (16) connects with a second sprocket (18) in the middle recess (15), which in turn connects with the third sprocket (21) in the right-hand recess (14). This recess also contains a cylindrical section (22) with square section hollow inside into which is inserted the rod (32) of the lock.
