Abstract

The machine can pick up bales left in lines by the baler, or it can pick up and load bales left in a heap. The machine consists of an arm (1) on a pivot (3), to which are attached a pair of arms (4 & 9). As the machine advances the bale presses against lever (6), which through linkage (20 & 25), operates jacks (5) and (2), closing the arms and causing arm (1) to rise. At the top of its travel, the hydraulic flow is reversed resulting in the opening of the arms, allowing the bale to drop onto the trailer. The arms are kept off the ground by a castor wheel (8).
