Abstract

One lever (21) moves a selector pinion (31) to invert the drive sense (i.e. forward to reverse or vice versa) and the other lever (22) attaches to and manipulates the steering linkage (27). A robust economic fabrication results. Pref. the pinion (31) is integral in rotation with and slidable along the drive axle (32) and embodies two cogged wheels connecting to the electric motor. It has a pulley form with the lever contacting its throat and the cheeks comprising ratchet wheels for meshing with adjacent drive cog wheels (33a, b). Cams are mounted beneath the chassis on a vertical spindle (16a) and a rear aerial functions as an electric switch.
