Abstract

The boxing ring, designed for rapid erection and dismantling and ease of stowage and transportation, embodies a toolless interslotting assembly of components which hinge-fold for stowage. The platform is formed of floor bearing regularly spaced lattice girders joined by transverse bracing bars whose ends slide into sleeves on the girders, corner posts are similarly fitted and diagonally stayed ropes form the ring. The interposition of boards, foamed rubber and canvas on horizontal top girder flanges forms the match surface. It is claimed that with a total weight of 1100Kg for a 6 metre square ring, erection time is 30 minutes.
