Abstract

The roller (2) is mounted between extensions (3) of a piston (1) in a slot (4) in the rotor or stator element of the machine. Seals between roller and piston and the piston and slot are provided by longitudinal strips and elastic elements (6, 7). The ends of the assembly are closed leg end plates (8). Pressurized hydraulic fluid is fed to the space beneath the piston (9) via a hole (11) and also to the space (10) between the roller and the piston. The projection of the space between the roller and piston is the same as the space beneath the piston, so that the hydraulic force on the piston is zero.
