Abstract

A tube projecting into the exhaust pipe has its open end bent to face upstream so that it captures part of the exhaust gases. It is connected to a similar tube (8) projecting into the intake pipe (9) at a point which forms the throat of a venturi. This injection pipe can rotate and has a pulley (13) which is connected by cables to the accelerator so that it is turned in accordance with engine speed. At minimum throttle its open end (11) faces upstream and at maximum throttle it faces downstream. The amount of exhaust gas sucked in thus depends on the accelerator depression and therefore on engine speed.
