Abstract

The plastic tube is manufactured by a continuous forming process and has the upper part (1) of its periphery transversely ridged for structural strength and the lower part (2) either plain or longitudinally ridged for the easy flow of fluids. Both the wall thickness and the radius of curvature of the lower part can be manufactured different to those of the upper part. As an alternative plain portions may be used top and bottom of the tube joined by sides transversely ridged. The ridges may be either annular or helical and they add strength to the thin walled flexible tubes.
