Abstract

An elastomer based pressure sensitive adhesive having improved and variable peel adhesion, tack, and creep resistance is formed on a substrate by reaction of (A) a liquid diene telechelic polymer having is not 1.6 terminal isocyanate reactive groups per molecule, these being on one of the end three C atoms of the polymer chain and (B) an organic polyisocyanate, the ratio isocyanate groups of (B) to isocyanate-reactive groups of (A) being from 0.75 to 1 to 1.2 to 1, in the presence of (C) a tackifying resin, in an amt of is not 75 wt. pts per 100 wt. pts elastomer (A and B), which is soluble in the elastomer at 25 degrees C. The adhesive compsn may also contain a high mol wt polymeric solidification agent.
