Flexible press substrate of woven metal wire fabric for the mfr. of wood-based plates e. g. chipboard, fibre board, plywood etc., by hot pressing, the sieve openings in the metal fabric are filled with a heat-conducting filler, more esp. a silicone rubber, which does not depolymerise in the absence of air and at high temp. Ensures maximum uniform heat transfer, eliminates the imprint of the sieve fabric on the compression moulded prod. and facilitates the release of this from the fabric after pressing.
