Abstract

The parent patent discloses a filter bag containing a powder to react with a liquid in which the bag is to be immersed is made, partly at least, or a heat-shrinkable vinyl plastic material. The bag is only loosely filled and then heat-treated to shrink-wrap the contents tightly before the bag of powder is used. In the patent of addtn. the bag is produced as a two-part only sachet from heat-shrinkable vinyl plastic moulded to form flanged cup and mating flanged cover heat seamed together at the flanges to contain a powdered, granular or similar product to be lixivated in hot water, e.g. tea, mint tea, lime-blossom etc.
