Abstract

The board is manufactured by taking mould and casting half the thickness of the board (1). Then the metal sheet is laid on top and is covered by another layer of plaster (3). In other forms the metal reinforcement may be a grille and the plaster may contain a fibrous material such as glass fibre. These panels are suitable as finishes for walls or suspended ceilings and may have a smooth or a decorative surface. They provide a good fire resistance. The grille, which may be a standard reinforcing mat, confers strength on the panel.
